Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris
"This is Book 1 in Ms. Harris' Southern Vampire series. I picked it up because the series will be the basis of a new HBO show. It is about a mind reading waitress who is happy to associate with a vampire whose mind she can NOT read. The vampire who is trying to mainstream into human life brings a lot of trouble with him to both Sookie (the waitress) and the town. Enjoyable read!!
