"Non-fiction account of a combat marine who finds a homeless puppy during the battle of Fallujah, adopts him and then goes to excessive trouble to get him back to the states in the midst of war-time Iraq. The storyline about the dog became less interesting as the book went on, but the description of everyday life in Iraq and the author's inner and outer response to the stress of danger of war was fascinating."
