"As with most of his novels, this one grabs the reader's interest very early on. At first, I thought it would be one of my favorites of his. The usual characters, Alex Delaware, Milo, Robin, and a new dog make likeable people to deal with the crimes that are the gist of the story. However, as has happened often with the later J. Kellerman novels, one of the "bad guys" is so twisted and reprehensible that his deeds are hard to stomach even in fiction. I'd give this one a B."
