"The Samuarai's Garden" by Gail Tsukiyama

The Samurai's Garden by Gail Tsukiyama
FIC TSU available at Beaufort, Bluffton, and Hilton Head

"This book is beautifully written in journalistic style by a young Chinese man who was sent to a desert area in Japan to recover from tuberculosis. He is taken care of by a servant, Matsu. During the course of a year, Steven meets many interesting people in the nearby villages and learns a great deal about Japanese culture."
